Insomnia

The constant buzz. The noise. The sound. The echoes of words unspoken.  
The shouting. The laughter. The tears. The sobs. The mark of a mind that is broken.
No matter how hard you fight, that silence never falls. The guilt that comes at night, the insanity quietly calls.

Listen, listen. Indulge in me. For I am the voice of your insanity.
Peace, peace. Then up it creeps. In to my thoughts, in to my sleep.

I’m begging you please just shut up. I already know I’m a failure.
Quiet is all that I ask. Then I swear I will fall apart later.

But wait you don’t exist do you?
You, the words in my brain?
But how is that even possible?

Maybe it’s just I’m insane
